After the successful completion of the Mission 10,000 kilometers ride, the Japanese two-wheeler maker Yamaha has now gone ahead with the launch of the SZ-RR V2.0 version in India priced at Rs. 65,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Yamaha Motor India is refreshing its entire product portfolio for India one by one.

The Indian wing of the Japanese motorcycle giant, Yamaha Motor India took the initiative to organize a 10,000 km long ride across the country on the company’s FZ-S FI models in order to showcase the bike’s potential and to engage the biking enthusiasts of India. The motorcycle event concluded at the YMCA grounds in Chennai.

The new Yamaha SZ-RR V2.0 is a tough and efficient daily commuter’s bike and the company has made it more proficient than the previous model by incorporating a Blue Core technology in order to offer a fun riding experience as well as provide good fuel economy at the same time. The bike is powered by a 149cc, 4-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder SOHC, motor. This engine offers the same power figures as before, that is a max power output of 12.1 PS and 12.8 Nm of peak torque. Yamaha India has priced the new SZ-RR V2.0 at Rs. 65,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi), that is around Rs. 4000 dearer over the preceding model of the motorcycle.

The new Yamaha SZ-RR V2.0 also comes with a very mild but noticeable cosmetic refresh over the previous SZ-RR V1.0. The company has also added new attractive colour combinations for the bike which give it a sporty look and make it stand out in the crowd of many other basically boringly styled commuter bikes in India. A couple of colour combinations have been borrowed from the bike’s elder sibling the FZ V2.0 as well. The new Yamaha SZ-RR V2.0 rides on a wheelbase of 1320 mm while weighing 134 kgs. The bike comes with a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres. Moreover, the model’s real world fuel efficiency has been enhanced by 11 percent as compared to the previous model, though Yamaha has not yet declared the actual mileage figure officially.

The new Yamaha SZ-RR V2.0 is 2050 mm long, 760 mm wide and 1100 mm tall and comes with a ground clearance of 165 mm. The new updated Yamaha SZ-RR also flaunts a diamond-type frame and offers 17 inch alloy wheels to add to the sportiness. The bike gets telescopic suspension at the front, while the rear gets dual shocks. The company has endowed the bike with a disc brake at the front, while a drum brake does the duty at the rear. The bike comes with a simple and neat instrument cluster along with all analog speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and odometer.
