Volkswagen Re-Introduces Vento Preferred Edition


Volkswagen India has already introduced several special editions of its Polo and Vento offerings and has yet again rolled out an edition of Vento christened as ‘Vento Preferred’. The Vento Preferred edition aims to cater to corporate executives who seek more from the car. For those unaware, VW Vento Preferred Edition was first introduced in the year 2014. The limited edition model launched recently is basically the face-lifted version and is available only on the comfort trim of the sedan. That said, the carmaker has not yet revealed the prices of the preferred edition, those willing to own the sedan can get the exact figures from company’s dealerships. Volkswagen however claims that the special edition has been priced attractively.

Volkswagen has been aggressively expanding and updating its lineup and has launched three products in the past three months namely- new Vento having updated diesel engine, Ameo compact sedan with diesel trim and the Polo AllStar Edition. Mr. Michael Mayer, Director VW Passenger Cars India on the occasion of the special edition launch said that Vento happens to be one of the best-selling vehicles ever since its launch in the domestic market; the company has therefore introduced ‘Vento Preferred’ that has premium features and offers seamless navigation in just one click. He further commented that the company will continue to expand the current product line so as fulfill the customer requirements.

Coming back to the vehicle itself, Vento Preferred edition features subtle upgrades that enhance the overall look and feel of the car. The sedan is seen sporting portable navigation system with wireless reversing camera and leather seat covers. Please note that customers can opt for these accessories individually as well. The exterior features alloy wheels, roof foil and side mouldings. Just like the standard model, Vento Preferred too is available in three engine options that are- 1.2-L TSI petrol, 1.6-L naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-L TDI diesel. The 1.2-L and 1.6-L petrol unit delivers 103 bhp power output against 175 Nm and 153 Nm torque respectively. While the diesel unit churns out 108 bhp and 250 Nm. The transmission options available are a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
