Volkswagen to open its second parts distribution centre in Bangalore

German car maker Volkswagen plans to expand its operations in India by setting up its second part distribution center (PDC) in Bangalore. The second PDC will be fully functional by the second quarter of 2015. Volkswagen`s first PDC was set up in 2012 and is located in Gurgaon.

PDC falls under Volkswagens three depot network strategy under its “depot network development project”. VW aims to expand its after sales and spare parts presence in the southern region of India. VW says the second PDC will bring down the delivery time of genuine spare parts to authorized service centers of all brands that fall under the VW umbrella.Currently in India the VW group consists of Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Skoda and Volkswagen. The new PDC coming up in Bangalore will cater to the VW group`s current product line-up sold by the five brands in India. VW`s investment in the new PDC shows the auto makers strong commitment towards India.
