In the compact sedan segment the sedan will go up against the likes of Honda Amaze, Maruti Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Zest and Ford Figo Aspire.
Second vehicle under VW’s sleeve is the Polo GTI which will employ a 1.8 litre TSI petrol engine outputting 189 Bhp. Tailored to offer exhilarating performance, the hatch is claimed to accelerate to 100 kmph from zilch within 7 seconds flat making it the fastest hatchback in India. VW may bestow an auto box on the Polo GTI. Features on-board may include new steering, bigger alloy wheels, dual exhaust, aluminium pedals and sports seats. Volkswagen may launch the new Polo GTI in the second half of 2016, in its segment the hatchback will fight it out with the recently launched Abarth Punto.
