VIDEO: Jaguar crossover to be named the F-Pace
Jaguar is making a bold move, introducing a crossover variant, in its other wise all sedan stable. Rumor’s were making the rounds for a quite a while since spy shots were swarming online, finally Jaguar confirmed that the crossover will be launched in 2016.
The car is based on the beautiful C-X17 crossover concept car, which was flaunted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The name F-Pace, comes from its sibling the F-Type and from the founder William Lyon’s famous “grace, pace and space in a car” philosophy.
The “performance crossover” will be a 5 seater built on the new aluminum architecture the company has been working on. Also the suspension on the F-Pace will be completely different from any other Jaguar. The car will come with the XE’s all-surface progress control system, which is basically a low speed cruise control, which helps in low-tractions terrain. This will establish the crossover as a Jag and not a Range Rover.
Under the hood, the F-Pace crossover will come with an array of options, including the new Ingenium range of engines, which will slowly make its way to the Jaguar fleet over the year. The car will most likely be unveiled at the famous North American Auto Show at Detroit. America will be the largest target market for this vehicle. The car will be manufactured and assembled in Solihull, UK and will create about 1300 new jobs for the locals. JLR has been showing commendable progress after being taken over by the TATA group and it just keeps getting better. Video of what you could expect has been shown below.
