Updated TVS Sport with better mileage launched at Rs. 36,880
Two-wheeler manufacturers in the country consider mileage as one of the most crucial factors while retailing products in the Indian market. Hero and Bajaj have been taking advantage of this fact for a long time and it looks like TVS is seriously considering it as well. TVS has just launched the new Sport commuter motorcycle at a price tag of Rs. 36,880 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The 100cc motorcycle has been majorly updated on the fuel economy front. The company claims that the bike will now return a mileage of 95 km/l. This figure is a vast improvement from the current 87.7 km/l, which is very impressive. TVS has updated the Sport in line with its plans of updating one model every quarter.
On the mechanical front, the TVS Sport derives power from a 99.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 7.5 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 7.5 Nm of torque at 5000 RPM. With power being driven to the rear wheel through a 4-speed gearbox, the rear suspension features a 5-stage setup while the front is equipped with telescopic forks. The bike gets its retarding power from a 110 mm drum brake at the rear and 130 mm drums at the front.
Fuel efficiency figures have changed for the better thanks to the DuraLife engine which has updated roller cams and chrome plated piston rings for reducing friction, thereby increasing the fuel economy. The bike also gets an electric starter, sporty instrument cluster, aluminium grab rail and a chrome muffler guard. According to the company, the ignition timing has also been refined to further improve the bike’s mileage.
The new TVS Sport is offered in five different colours – White, Black, Blue, Mercury Grey and Red. The new colours are complemented with new contrasting graphics as well.
