Upcoming SUV in India, MPV to look out for in 2015!
So many posts can be seen floating around online about the new car launches in the Indian automobile market in 2015. There are going to be new cars in every segment, to suit every pocket. All the way from hatchbacks to premium SUV’s, 2015 is going to be the year where India unleashes its automobile prowess to the world and claims its stake in the International market. Below is a list of the most exciting SUV’s and MUV’s to look out for in the next year.
Maruti YBA compact SUV
Maruti Suzuki has earned its reputation as India’s most reliable and favourite car manufacturer. Spy shots of the vehicle, codenamed the YBA, have emerged online. The car is heavily camouflaged and not too much can be said about its design. The 1.2 litre K series and 1.3 litre multijet diesel are expected to do duty on this beast. Expected to be priced under Rs. 7 lakh, the car will be unveiled at the 2016 Auto expo.
Will be based on the i20 platform and will have a different name, like the Xcent and i10 Grande. It will be priced slightly higher than the i20, but cheaper than the Verna. Will be super exciting to see how this car will keep up with the others!
Maruti is taking a bold move entering this segment with this car. The S-Cross will rival the likes of the Polo Cross/Etios Cross, Renault Duster and the Ecosport. With the trusted Maruti badge and reliability, if priced right, this car would be loved by cross utility fans. Pricing is the crucial factor here.
Honda CRV facelift diesel
The car showcased at the Paris Auto show was only a concept. The soon-to-launched Honda CRV will feature a completely new-refreshed look. It will sport a new front grill and headlamps, which will give the complete fascia of the car a makeover. Premium materials have been used on the inside. The infotainment system will feature satellite navigation, Internet radio and will also display key information about the car, like fuel efficiency figures. The most important aspect to note is that this car will be available in a diesel option as well.
Ford has unveiled its all-new Endeavor, which will be launched in the country soon. The car looks impressive (BIG), with typical American styling. The interior of the car has also been given a massive makeover! The car will be available in 2WD as well as 4WD with the option of 2 diesel engines (2.2/3.0). The car showcased is only a concept, but the real production car will not be too different!
Audi Q7 facelift
325 Kgs lighter, 37 mm shorter and 15mm narrower, but still got more space than the older model; the Q7 sports an aggressive stance.
The new version sports sharper features and this is a refreshing change from the traditional rounder features Audi has on the previous models of the Q7. Expected to hit Indian shores in 2015, this car could create waves if priced right.
Porsche Cayenne facelift
No one expected Porsche to make a SUV. When news first made the rounds years ago, Porsche was heavily criticized for deviating away from its sports car market. Now years later, Porsche is unveiling its newest SUV. The car will be powered by a turbocharged V6 instead of a V8 to maximize fuel efficiency. The Cayenne has always been loved, internationally as well as in the country. There is no doubt the new version will continue to do so.
Already sold in the international market under the “Dacia” badge, this car will be making its way to Indian shores next year. If priced right this car could give cars like the Ertiga, Mobilio and even the bigger segment cars like the Innova a run for their money. Only thing that could keep the masses away is the bad fittings as complaints were reported for the Duster.
