Upcoming Hyundai ix25 spotted testing with the Ecosport; Dimension comparison
The Hyundai ix25 is going to be the next big launch from the stable of the Korean automotive giant after the i20 Cross launches in India. The ix25 has already been launched in China and Indian consumers are waiting in anticipation for its launch here.
The compact SUV was recently spotted testing with the Ford Ecosport and it looks similar in size to the Ecosport, but actually the ix25 is much bigger than the Ecosport and smaller than the Renault Duster. The Chinese website of the Korean manufacturer states that the Hyundai ix25 is 4270mm long, 1780mm wide and 1622mm high which is less than the Renault Duster`s dimensions which stand at 4315mm, 1822mm and 1695mm respectively.
To get a clearer picture the Ecosport is 3999mm long, 1765mm wide and 1708mm high. The compact SUV from Ford has the smallest wheelbase which stands at 2520mm.
As per reports the Hyundai ix25 will be powered by the same petrol and diesel engines currently doing duty in the Verna. The engines definitely have an advantage on paper, while we have to wait and see how these power output figures translate to on-road performance. The car is scheduled to be launched during the second half of 2015 and we expect Hyundai to load the car with a lot of features.
As far as pricing is concerned we believe the ix25 will be priced between Rs 8 -13 lakhs (ex-showroom). When launched the ix25 will compete with the likes of the Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster.
