Countless articles and reports have been written about the new exciting vehicles being launched in 2015. Here is a roundup of all the upcoming cars you should keep a look out for in Jan. Just the beginning of the year and we’re already super pumped!
Datsun GO+ MPV
Launch date: 15th January
Estimated Price: Rs. 5 – 7 lakh
The Datsun GO+ looks like an elongated version of the GO, which was the first offering by the company in the country. The front fascia and the overall design has been based on the Go. 1.6 M wide, 1.4M high, and most importantly 3.95M long, the car enjoys concessions of the sub 4-M rule. Doing duty on this MPV will be a 1.2 litre petrol engine churning out 67bhp and 104Nm as well as a 1.5 lUitre diesel (expected).
Launch date: 22nd January
Estimated Price: Rs. 4.2 – 4.5 lakh
The hatchback segment in the country is very congested, and only keeps growing day by day. Tata enters the market with the Tata Bolt, based on the Zest Compact sedan. Doing duty under the hood is Petrol (1.2 Liter turbocharged, 90PS) and a diesel (1.3 Liter, 75PS). Both of them will have a 5-speed manual. This car will give the Swift, Polo, Liva and i10 Grande competition.
Mercedes Benz CLA-Class Sedan
Launch date: January 22nd
Estimated Price: Rs. 25 – 30 lakh
The CLA will be a completely new class which Mercedes are creating, called the MFA (Modular Front wheel architecture). This is part of their plan to take over market share, lost to its German rivals, Audi and BMW. Since Merc does not have a cross over variant like the X1 or Q3, they plan to take this route to bring back the masses. Available in 3 petrol variants, CLA 180(122 bhp), CLA 200(156bhp) CLA250 (211bhp) and one diesel CLA220CDI (170bhp). Power will be transmitted via a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. A 335 bhp CLA 45 AMG will also be available.
Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione
Launch date: Last week of January
Estimated Price: Rs. 26 lakh
A fiat 500 with a 1.4-Litre MultiAir turbo-petrol engine, churning out 160 PS @5500 RPM and 201 Nm of torque @ 2750 RPM (230 Nm on sports mode) will be making its way to India. It’s called the 595 Competizione. Sitting pretty on 17-inch alloys and with a twin exhaust and a growl to die for, comes with the same retro Fiat 500 body. The car will be priced at 26 L INR (ex-showroom) and will be available in the last week of Jan.
