Upcoming bikes in India from Bajaj {2015}

Bajaj is all set to shake things up in the Indian motorcycle market with a wide range of launches planned to cater to every budget. Here’s a list of upcoming Bajaj bikes expected to enter the market  in 2015. If you plan to buy a bike, have a look at this list to make your choice.

Bajaj Platina

Bajaj Platina (Updated)

The commuter segment bikes are completely ruled by Hero (Hero Splendor, Hero Passion etc). The only bike Bajaj has in this segment is the Platina, which was introduced in 2006 and hasn’t had a facelift ever since then. The sales numbers for the bike were strong, but started slowly decreasing due to competition. Bajaj plans to revive the bike, and possibly get back the Platina 125cc, which was discontinued in 2012.

Expected Price – Rs. 36,000 – 40,000

 

Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS

Bajaj Pulsar 160NS

Pulsar has been a very successful brand for Bajaj, making sales and providing commuters with a value for money bike. Bajaj plans to introduce the Pulsar 160NS which is essentially a naked bike which might replace the Pulsar 150cc. The next-gen Pulsar will be all new model sharing its body styling and power mill with the 200 NS. Expected to hit the streets in Nov-2015, it will rival the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, Honda CB Trigger and the Yamaha FZ-S V 2.0.

Expected Price: Rs. 70,000

 

Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS

Bajaj Pulsar 200SS

Bajaj Pulsar has been a game changer in the Indian market, and Bajaj plans to introduce many more models. First of the lot will be the Pulsar 200SS, which is basically a clothed version of the 200NS. The bike will be powered by a 199.5cc motor which produces 23 bhp and 18Nm of torque.

Expected Price: Rs. 1- 1.3 lakh

Bajaj Pulsar 400SS

First displayed at the 2014 Auto expo, it garnered a lot of attention to itself. The bike will have an all new-chassis. Propelling it will be a liquid cooled 375cc engine, banging out 41bhp. It`s main rival will be the KTM RC390.

Expected Price – Rs. 1.60 lakh – 1.80 lakh

 

Bajaj Pulsar CS 400

Bajaj Pulsar CS400

A power cruiser motorcycle equipped with a liquid cooled 375cc engine. Bajaj enters a completely new category with this bike. Aggressive headlamps with wide front forks give it a majestic stance. The bike will have an updated, well-designed instrument cluster. The riding position of the bike looks  perfect as well. It will come equipped with ABS as standard. Do not expect this bike to be pocket friendly at all.

Expected Price: Rs. 1. 6 – 2 lakh

There are a lot of new bike launches from different companies, and Bajaj is trying hard to re-invent itself to stay in the game. How these bikes satisfy consumer demand, and how they are priced will determine their success. Till then it is only a wait and watch game!
