Upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 200AS caught testing in Pune, likely to be launched in May!
Bajaj has always pushed the envelope when it comes to innovation. It has played a major role in molding and shaping up the Indian 2-wheeler segment. The two wheeler manufacturer revolutionized the market with the launch of classics like the Chetak and Pulsar. Both those models have been the epitome of their respective segments. Though the Chetak has been discontinued, the Pulsar legacy still lives on. Bajaj was the first company to introduce a fun to ride, 150 cc motorcycle that looked as good as it rode.
Bajaj plans to milk this cash cow, and has introduced many variants of the Pulsar. The 150,180 and 200 cc variants are available in the market. They sell like hotcakes and rightly so. The pulsar 200 NS was launched not so long ago, and it goes to show how far the bike has come since its launch. The company plans to expand the range with the addition of a tourer as well as a fully faired version of the bike.

Recently spy shots of the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS were leaked online. The bike was seen in complete camouflage, zipping through the streets of Pune. What can clearly be seen from the first glimpse is that the bike will have a huge windscreen as well as projector headlamps. The Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS is essentially a tourer bike, and these features show the company’s commitment to its purpose.
The engine powering the bike will be identical to the 200 NS. It is a 199.5 cc, liquid cooled motor that produces about 23.5 PS of power and 18.2 Nm of torque. The suspension set up is similar too, except some minor adjustments have been made to suit the end consumers “adventurous streak”. The tyres too get an upgrade over the 200 NS. The bike will sport MRF Nylogrip Zapper’s to offer better grip. There will however be no ABS.
The Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS is expected to be priced at about Rs 1 lakh.
