American motorcycle manufacturer – UM Motorcycles which had entered into a 50:50 partnership with Lohia Auto in 2014 will be launching two of its popular cruisers at the upcoming Auto Expo.
UM has just teased images of its forthcoming cruiser bikes – Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S. Powering both the bikes will be a 300cc single cylinder motor capable of generating 27 bhp of power and 30 Nm of twisting force.
Unveiled last year at the EICMA motor show in Milan, the same model of Renegade Sport S will be launched in India. The Commando and Sport S have a distinct cruiser styling which is their USP. UM is eyeing for a chunk in the middle-weight cruiser market in India which is mostly dominated by Harley Davidson and Royal Enfield.
Both the bikes will be manufactured at Lohia`s manufacturing facility in Uttarakhand. The company is in the process of finalizing its dealerships across the country through which the bikes will be retailed. Pricing will play a key role in the success of these bikes in the Indian market. As per reports the UM cruisers will be priced between Rs. 1.2 and Rs. 2 lakh.
