TVS’s new Akula concept video will leave your jaw dropped
TVS is celebrating its 33rd year of racing, and to commemorate it they showed the Akula Concept at the Auto Expo earlier this year. Akula in Russian means shark and that shows in the aggressive lines of the carbon fibre bodywork. The TVS Akula concept grabbed a lot of eyeballs at the Auto Expo, no doubts why it won the Best Concept Motorcycle title at the Auto Expo.
TVS recently released a video that shows that the Akula 310 has got everything you need on a racetrack. The Ultra lightweight Carbon Fibre bodywork, the race designed inverted forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, the Lightweight racing Exhaust, the aerodynamic tail with a Gyro camera sensor, all of this adds to the visual impact it creates as a racing machine. But the lightweight madness just doesn`t ends here, it has even got a race spec aluminum trellis sub-frame and various other lightweight aluminum components. And what you get under the skin is even more interesting, powering the Akula is a race tuned 4 valve DOHC liquid cooled 310 cc engine with RAM air intake based on the BMW G310R’s engine that develops about 34 bhp of power and 21 Nm of torque; which should be more than enough considering the ultra-light weight design.
Now open your eyes, this dream comes to an end here, as there are no clues that this mean machine is anywhere near production; you will have to wait for at least a year to get your hands on it. What you can do till then is to pray that the production model should be at least half as good as the concept.
