TVS-BMW’s new 300cc bike spotted testing
Not more than a year ago, TVS and BMW Motorrad announced their partnership. They would jointly be developing motorbikes for the global market. The first of many such bikes TVS-BMW K03 was spotted testing in Germany. The bike has been codenamed TVS BMW K03, and is expected to have a 300cc engine powering it. The bike will help both the companies to use their expertise to take on the growing 2-wheeler market worldwide. This bike would be a perfect showcase for BMW to use their technological facet and combine it with low-cost effective production of the TVS group.
The pictures seen online give a hint of what to expect when the bike is launched. The bike has a massive radiator grill, along with upside down fork suspension set up in the front and a monoshock setup at the rear. The TVS BMW K03 is based on the Draken concept, influences of which can be seen on the headlight and fuel tank. The bike sports an aggressive stance. It is said to be powered by a 4-stroke 300 cc motor, which would have a back to front cylinder fitting. The exhaust design protruding from the sides is a feast for the eyes to look at. The main competition of the bike would be the KTM dukes and the low capacity Kawasaki’s.
Apart from the TVS BMW K03, the alliance plans to have a sports bike and an adventure bike on the same platform. BMW is know for its touring bikes, and maybe a smaller capacity GS Adventure might be on the cards. The TVS BMW K03 passes all the check box signs on the list, and would create quite a stir when it hits the streets. There are chances it may make its appearance as soon as November of this year at the EICMA motorcycle show.
