TVS Apache RTR 160 and 180 launched in Matte Blue colour
TVS has not really been a part of the performance motorcycle segment in India. However, the Apache RTR models have been doing well for the Pune based manufacturer. But the motorcycle has now aged in the country and not many people are visiting TVS showrooms to check out the motorcycle. To keep things fresh and bring out something new for the upcoming festive season as well, TVS has just given the Apache RTR models Matte Blue editions.
The Matte Blue editions are for both the 160 and 180 class. It is not yet clear as to whether the new colour scheme will be available permanently or is just a limited edition. Anyhow, the edition features matte blue colour, as its name suggests in addition to new decals on the fuel tank extension and an under belly pan as well.
Other than the aforementioned facts, both bikes are based on a double cradle chassis and continue to draw power from the same engines. The Apache RTR 160 has a 159.7cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 15.2 BHP of power at 8500 RPM, 13.1 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Apache RTR 180 derives power from a 177.4cc, single-cylinder engine that generates 17.03 BHP of power at 8500 RPM, 15.5 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM and comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox as well.
Nothing about the Matte Blue edition has been made official as of now, including its prices. But the new colour is expected to be cost about Rs. 1500 more than the current colours offered on the two models. The TVS Apache RTR 180 is priced at Rs. 87,282 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and comes equipped with dual-channel ABS. Till then, stay tuned to Motor Cruze for more updates on the same.
