Launching soon- TVS Apache RR 310 S
Everyone has been waiting for the TVS Apache RR 310S to go on sale in the Indian market. The fully faired sports bike was seen for the first time at the Delhi Auto Expo, 2016 as “Akula 310 concept”. It is TVS’ fastest production bike and is set to be launched in India during the festive season of Diwali, around August-September.
It was previously speculated that the company was to launch the TVS Apache RR 310S by the end of 2016, but due to various reasons it wasn’t possible. Since then the 300cc motorcycle has been seen on the Indian roads, being tested and its images are all over the internet revealing its design highlights.
TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad have joined hands to produce the Apache RR 310S. BMW plans to introduce two more models- the G310 GS adventure tourer and G310R naked street fighter by the end of 2018. Thought these will all sport the “TVS Racing DNA”, the Apache RR 310S will be flagship model in the Apache series. All the motorcycles will be locally manufactured at the Hosur TVS Motor plant.
When we look at the engine, we see a bike that is powered by a 313 cc single cylinder; the same is used in the BMW models. Nevertheless, this power will be tuned to deliver power in sync with the bike’s characteristics. The bike has taken most of its cues from the Akula concept, complete with the six speed gearbox, upside down fork in the front, radically mounted front caliper and vertically mounted instrument console.
The twin LED headlights with day time running lamps and HID projectors give the front of the bike an aggressive appearance. We also see a tall windshield with USD front forks in golden yellow paint. The ‘devil’s horn’ taillight with LED and LED indicator can been seen on this fully-faired motorcycle. The bike has Michelin tyres and its exhaust is similar to that of the BMW GS310R naked street fighter. The dual channel Anti-lock Breaking System is optional.
Style wise the TVS Apache RR 310S has a sporty pillion seat, stylish taillights and a higher paced clip on bar. The carbon fiber body slapped on with cost effective matte black paint will be a new feature, whereas the aluminium trellis sub frame will be retained.
The new Apache will be the first ever full-faired offering from TVS Motor Co. The Apache range of motorcycles has sporty range of bikes for a very long period and will complete 10 years in 2017. The new motorcycle will be the first Apache to get the RR (Race Replica) suffix. The prices are expected to start from Rs 1.72 lakh.
