Toyota Innova facelift specifications and details – Report
Toyota is gearing up to lift the covers off its refreshed Innova MPV at the global unveil of the face- lifted version on November 23, 2015. Much ahead of the official unveil, images of the upcoming Toyota Innova facelift version were leaked lately. Even the brochure of the facelift version surfaced on inter-web giving complete details about the comprehensive changes evident on the new generation model. As seen in the pictures, the overhaul is thorough both on the outside and inside. One of the easily noticeable tweaks made to the MPV is the revised dimension, the MPV now measures 180mm longer at 4735mm, 60mm wider at 1830mm and 45mm taller at 1795mm. This, in turn brings change in the cabin size, if not substantially then at least slightly as the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2750 mm.
Mechanical upgrades are also prominent, under the engine hood lies an all-new 2.4 litre, GD series mill which replaces the current generation 2.5 litre, diesel KD series engine outputting 102.5 BHP. The new engine is claimed to develop a maximum power output of 147 bhp which is 45 Bhp more than the outgoing engine. Transmission choices will include a five-speed manual tranny and a six-speed automatic gearbox. Torque generated by the manual version stands at 34.9 kgm while the automatic version offers 36.7 kgm.
As per the brochure, Innova’s Indonesia bound model will feature LED head lights with integrated LED daytime running lights. Rear will also get LED tail lamps along with emergency braking markers. Cabin will be enveloped in a two-tone interior theme featuring faux brush aluminium trim on the higher variants. Seats will be covered in leather upholstery and ambient LED mood lighting will also be available. An integrated infotainment system with 7.0 inch touchscreen with navigation system, voice command and Bluetooth telephony system will be standard across all trims. However, SD card support will be available exclusively on top end trims. A cooled glove-box for storage will also be provided. The cabin will be equipped with a multi-zone climate control. To aid the driver a separate multi-info display will be provided. Top end trims could get auto up-down windows and push-button start. Besides, a unique entertainment system featuring an 8.0 inch screen, in-car Wi-Fi support and HDMI input will be among the exquisite fitments.
On the safety front, the humongous MPV will feature equipment such as stability control, anti-lock-braking system and airbags in front/side & knee bags. Other than these features, new Innova will also get hill start assist. However, these features inside/out and on safety front are confirmed for Indonesia market, for Indian market we still need to see what all equipment Toyota will offer. Indian launch is likely to take place next year, hence we can expect the MPV to be seen at the upcoming Auto Expo early next year.
