Toyota India sells 280 units of the new Camry Hybrid in just 50 days

Toyota Kirloskar Motor`s recently launched new Toyota Camry is garnering a lot of attention from buyers. The Japanese auto major has managed to sell 280 units of the 2015 Camry in just 50 days. This is quite an achievement considering the fact that luxury sedan is priced upwards of Rs 30 lakhs. Toyota was able to sell only 720 units in 2014 while the new Camry Hybrid has got 125 pending orders and 730 consumer enquiries.

Cities like Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Calicut and Pune have been witnessing increased demand for the car, which has resulted in increased sales for the company. The FAME scheme which was recently announced by the government has also benefitted the company by way of more sales and enquiries from interested buyers.

At present Camry hybrid constitute more 80% of total Camry sales showing the increased awareness and acceptance of Hybrid in India. Concerns like road safety and increased pollution are some of the grave problems faced by our country. The new Toyota Camry is powered by a petrol and electric motor which produces a combined power output of 205 PS with a fuel efficiency figure of 19.16 kmpl. The CO2 emissions are pegged at 122.8 gm per km. The Camry Hybrid variant is priced at Rs 31.92 lakh while the petrol model costs Rs 28.80 lakh. All prices ex-showroom, New Delhi.
