Toyota Fortuner Ends 2016 a in Special Way- Crosses 1 Lakh Sales Milestone in India!

Honestly, we are not surprised with Toyota Fortuner crossing the 1 lakh sales mark in the country. In fact the SUV has been leading the segment for most part of it tenure, all thanks to its low running cost, great off-road capabilities and not to forget its aggressive styling. Toyota Fortuner made its debut way back in 2009 and then came the facelift version of the model in 2012, the second-generation model of the premium SUV has been introduced recently in the domestic market. Such is the popularity that within few weeks of its launch the new Fortuner was labelled as a hit with over 6200 bookings, out of which 5000 units is yet to be delivered.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors is known for adopting new ways in order to enhance its cars; the company went ahead beyond anybody’s expectation and often added new features into the Fortuner. The director and senior VP, marketing and sales of Toyota India- Mr N. Raja extended his thanks to the customers for the immense support and for overwhelming response. He even termed it as huge achievement to serve one lakh happy customers that too in such a competitive and premium segment.

The new-gen Fortuner gets a new engine line-up i.e. 2.7-L petrol and powerful 2.8-L GD diesel units that deliver 166 bhp along with 245 Nm and 177 bhp along with 450 Nm respectively. Transmission options available are an automatic and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The new model is out for sale in six trims and has been priced in the range of Rs 25.92 lakh to Rs 31.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Japanese auto major has a busy schedule ahead as it plans to introduce new Prius hybrid, new Corolla Altis, Alphard hybrid MPV and Rush compact SUV. For those unaware, Toyota’s entire model line-up will cost you 3% more from January 1st, 2017.
