Toyota Etios Xclusive edition launched at Rs. 7.82 lakhs
Automotive manufacturers in India are no longer looking to showcase their models as cheap alternatives to its rivals. This is due to the fact that the average Indian customer does not want to be seen in a not so premium vehicle anymore and is instead looking to spend a few extra bucks for boosting up his/her image. As a result of this, people nowadays end up paying more money in order to get a more feature rich and tech laden vehicle.
In view of this, Toyota has just launched the Etios Xclusive sedan in the country in both a petrol and diesel avatar. The petrol variant costs Rs. 7.82 lakhs and the diesel variant costs Rs. 8.92 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The Toyota Etios Xclusive edition will be sold alongside the standard Etios sedan variants, however, the vehicle now comes in three new colours – Metallic Blue, Symphony Silver and Pearl White.
What sets the standard Etios apart from the special edition is the inclusion of a touchscreen infotainment system with six speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, voice function and smartphone enabled navigation on the latter model. The dashboard also gets a new clean wooden finish, while the seats get a dual-tone fabric with ‘Xclusive’ badges. Other feature additions includes new 12-spoke, 15-inch alloy wheels and a reverse parking camera. On the outside, door visors have been fitted and the electrically adjustable ORVMs get chrome inserts for lending a more premium appeal.
The Toyota Etios Xclusive continues to draw power from the existing 1.5-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines with the latter returning a mileage of 23.59 km/l and the first returning 16.78 km/l respectively. The Japanese car maker feels that the added technology will make the Etios sedan more premium, thereby attracting buyers with changing lifestyles who are looking for features such as these on a vehicle of this size.
