Top 10 best-selling cars in August 2015, Figo Aspire starts well
Everyone eagerly awaits the names of the best-selling cars for a particular month in the Indian automotive industry. So the figures are finally out and a new vehicle finds its way on to the prestigious list, the Ford Figo Aspire. The recently launched compact sedan has dethroned its rival, Honda Amaze from the 10th spot by clocking a sales figure of 5176 units respectively.
Replacement for the Classic, the Figo Aspire is a very good compact sedan that comes loaded with a long list of segment first features, safety equipment and very aggressive pricing. Now all Ford needs to do is keep the sales figures consistent for as long as possible. Coming to the other cars, Maruti Suzuki as usual was able to bag the top 4 consecutive positions.
First position is taken by the Alto which dethroned fellow stablemate Swift Dzire for the top spot. The first managed 23,017 units while the latter garnered 18,718 units in sales for last month. The Swift hatchback came in at third position by selling 16,811 units in the same month. The Wagon R completed the top four by finding 14,648 new homes.
Fifth and sixth spot was taken by the country’s second biggest car maker, Hyundai with the Grand i10 and Elite i20 hatchbacks respectively. The Grand i10 moved out 10,255 units from its showrooms, while the Elite i20 premium hatchback managed to find 8521 new customers. The Celerio came in at the seventh spot with 7927 units sold, rounding up the table for Maruti Suzuki which claimed five of the total ten spots.
The country best-selling C-segment sedan Honda City stood at the eighth spot selling 5405 units and the latest Honda on the block, Jazz seems to have lost out in the market in August managing to come in at the ninth spot selling 5404 units.
