Tata Zest to come with an industry first 6-year warranty

Tata Motors is back in the race  with the launch of the Tata Zest just around the corner. The folks at TATA are leaving no stone unturned to make the Zest sedan a huge success. As we all know Tata motors has always had a reputation for poor product quality and customer service that needed improvement.

To change customer perception Tata Motors will be offering a 6-year warranty on the Zest sedan. The car would come with a 3 year warranty – plus a three year extended warranty for the first few months. This is an industry first and while the warranty covers only manufacturing defects there is also an added three year annual maintenance package for any other problem that is faced by the customer. Tata Motors is also offering free 24*7 road-side assistance.

To make things more exciting Tata Motors has also launched ringtones and a mobile racing game for Android users which is called the ‘Tata Revotron Challenge’. The Zest sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor would be the 1.2 litre Revotron T engine which pumps out 90PS and 140 Nm of torque while the diesel motor is the tried and tested 1.3 QuadraJet that produces 90PS and 200 Nm of torque. Both the engines would be mated to a 5 speed gear box. The diesel Zest would also be available with an AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission).

The launch of the Zest will be followed by the Bolt hatchback. Tata Motors is also working on a small car “Kite” which will be launched next year.
