With the festive season around the corner, auto manufacturers are doling out special editions to woo customers. Joining the bandwagon, Indian auto giant Tata Motors has recently launched the special anniversary edition of the Tata Zest.

The Tata Zest compact sedan was launched by Tata Motors in August 2014 under the Horizonext strategy. The Zest was an all-new car which was based on the three core vectors – Designext, Drivenext and Connectnext. The car won many awards in 2014 and has been a significant contributor to the company`s sales in the passenger vehicles segment.

The Tata Zest Anniversary edition has been priced at Rs 5.89 lakhs, ex-showroom, New Delhi for the petrol variant while the diesel costs Rs 6.94 lakhs, ex-showroom, New Delhi. The Tata Zest Anniversary Edition is equipped with 10 new features and is available in the XMS model. The special edition is priced at Rs 15,000 higher than the current XMS variant. The company claims that the features and other accessories are worth Rs 31,000 while they are only charging Rs 15,000 from the customer.

The Zest anniversary edition gets ten new features which include new wheels covers, new exterior colour, outside rear view mirrors in Piano Black, and front seats with “anniversary” embroidered on it. Apart from this the compact sedan gets an anniversary pack accessory kit which contains body graphics, remote controlled power curtain for the rear windshield, illuminated scuff plates for the front, bottle holder on the floor console and anniversary edition badging on the C-pillar.

• It is offered only in petrol and diesel variants and is built on the XMS platform.

The car continues to be powered by the 1.2 litre Revotron petrol motor that churns out 88.8 bhp and 140 Nm of torque while the 1.3 litre Quadrajet oil burner produces 88.8 bhp and 200 Nm of twist. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the diesel also gets an AMT option.
