Tata Tiago Turns Up The Heat, Receives Over 50K Bookings Since Launch
The smart looking small car- Tata Tiago has gotten every car buyer in the segment interested with its aggressive pricing, excellent build quality, two decent engines and feature-loaded cabin. The economical entry-level hatch has been creating ripples in the industry ever since its launch, and has already received more than 50,000 bookings so far. The only disappointing factor is, customers will have to wait for more than four months (for select variants) to have it in their garage.
Tata Tiago happens to be the third all-new product from carmaker’s stable under the HORIZONEXT product strategy. Owing to the massive response from customers, the automaker might come up with AMT version by the end of 2016. The hatchback is being offered in 5 trims namely XB, XE, XM, XT and XZ and in 2 engine options that are- 1.2-L Revotron petrol and 1.05-L Revotorq diesel. Tata Tiago Price in India
Tata Tiago was first introduced at a price tag of Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi); it recently hiked the prices of the hatch by Rs 6000. Please note that the prices of the base variant (petrol and diesel) remains unchanged. While the petrol variant of the Tiago is being offered at price range of Rs 3.20 lakh to Rs 4.75 lakh, the diesel version is tagged in between Rs3.94 lakh to Rs 5.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). If rumours are to be believed, the home grown automaker might increase the price of Tiago yet again this festive season.

Tata Tiago Waiting Period
Now as the demand increases, the waiting period goes up too. The waiting period of base model XE happens to be 9 weeks, whereas the high-end variant equipped with plethora of comfort and safety features commands up to 4 months of waiting period. The optional XE (O) and XM (O) are still unavailable in few cities.

The entry-level mini hatch measures 3746 mm long, 1647 mm wide and 1535 mm tall. The fuel tank capacity is 35-L, while the kerb weight is 1080 kg. The mini hatch offers ground clearance of 170 mm and wheelbase of 2400 mm.

As mentioned above Tata Tiago is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 3-cylinder 1.2-L VCTi Revotron unit having DOHC arrangement churns out 83.3 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque. Whereas the 3-cylinder 1.05-L Revotorq engine delivers power of 69.04 bhp amd torque of 140 Nm. The Tata Tiago petrol variant delivers ARAI-certified mileage figure of 23.84 kmpl, the diesel version on the other hand returns 27.28 kmpl.

The interior of the car looks inspired from the compact sedan Zest. The cabin is spacious and has boot capacity of 240-L, it offers multiple storage areas and has 22 utility spaces. The features Zest-like multi-functional 3-spoke power steering having telephony and audio controls, flip folding rear seat, MID (distance to empty, average fuel efficiency), revised gear-lever and redesigned power window switches. It looks classy in dual-tone beige and black interior, rectangular AC vents, fresh dashboard integrated console and several segment first features like- Smartphone enabled Turn-By-Turn navigation app, Juke-Car app and multi-drive mode- Eco and City.

The all-new design philosophy of the company- IMPACT makes it one of the best looking Tata car available in market. Placed below the Tata Bolt, the hatch is built on upgraded XO platform and has been styled with inputs from the company’s Italy, UK and Pune design studios. The front fascia looks sporty and features like radiator grille having wrap-around headlights, defogger and black bezel in round shape. Other designs that make the car stand apart from rest others are 10-spoke wheels with groove on alternate spoke, sloping rear windshields, body-colored door handles, body colored bumpers, integrated rear spoiler and fresh tail-lamp enclosures.
The Tata Tiago sits on 14-inch alloy wheels shod with front and rear 175/65 R14 tubeless tyres. The Disc brake and Drum brake performs the braking function on front and rear respectively.
