Tata Motors to launch GenX Nano next month; Bookings commence
Tata Motors is slowly and steadily getting back into the race. After the launch of the all new Zest compact sedan and the Bolt hatchback, Tata`s next offering would be the GenX Nano. The small car lacked adequate features and last year the company equipped the Nano with a power steering which was a welcome change.
The Nano hasn`t got any comprehensive updates till now and Tata intends to take it a step further by launching the GenX Nano. As per reports the GenX will be launched on 2nd May, 2015 and bookings for the car have already commenced with Rs. 5000 being the minimum booking amount.
Tata has addressed one of the major short comings in the current-gen Nano by equipping the GenX Nano with an openable boot. The GenX Nano gets redesigned front and rear bumpers, smoked headlights and new position for the exhaust pipe. Apart from this, it expected to feature a bigger fuel tank and minor changes to the interiors is on the cards.
Power steering, central locking, air conditioner with heater, Bluetooth, AUX, USB connectivity, multimedia infotainment system and ORVMs on both sides are some of the features the GenX Nano will come equipped with.
Powering the GenX Nano will be the same 624cc 2-cylinder petrol motor that pumps out 38PS of maximum power and 51Nm of peak torque coupled to a four-speed manual transmission that does duty on the current model. It will also be offered with an AMT gearbox.
In order to boost sales Tata Motors has kick started an exchange scheme, where existing Nano customers can exchange their car for a decent price at the dealership and can avail an additional bonus of Rs 20,000.
