Tata might launch the new Nano Twist Active AMT F-Tronic early next year
Indian auto major, Tata Motors is very busy working on several new models to rake up its sales and to regain its position in the home market. Apart from developing all-new vehicles, Tata Motors is also working on many new variants of its existing product portfolio. Tata is very serious about re-projecting its dream project Nano in new variants and a peppy new identity. While the Nano Twist has been able to do this to some extent by gaining good amount of response from the Indian car buyers, the company is going to build up the buzz around the tiny car even further with its Active and Active F-Tronic variants.
The new upcoming Tata Nano Twist Active F-Tronic is going to be empowered with the new Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) technology. This is the same technology that debuted in India with the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio in February this year and instantly took the market by storm. Tata Motors is the second car manufacturer in the country to use this technology in its recently launched Zest which is the first AMT sedan in India. Now, Tata is planning to use this flexible and cost effective automatic transmission system in many of its upcoming cars of which the Nano Twist Active F-Tronic is one. The car has been spied testing in the country for quite some time.
The new Tata Nano Twist Active F-Tronic has been spied testing yet again in India with its usual heavy camouflage. The Nano Twist Active variant with its open-able boot is expected to launch in the country by end of the current year, while the F-Tronic variant is expected to have its official market debut early next year. The Nano Active F-Tronic is reportedly going to be the most affordable automated transmission car in the country beating the price tag of the Maruti Celerio which is currently the most affordable Automatic car.
Tata Motors has unveiled the new Nano Twist Active at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo held in February this year. The car was displayed with new eye-catching styling updates that further enhance the appeal of the peppy looking Nano Twist. The front and rear bumpers of the car come with significant updates with large openings. The side profile of new Nano receives new black decals or graphics, the exterior side mirror caps as well as door handles are silver coloured to add to the bling factor. The Nano Twist Active also features new alloy wheels, an open-able tail gate and a possible new black body color to complete the updates.
The Tata Nano Twist Active test prototype with the mentioned updates was caught testing earlier, but latest spy shots reveal minimum changes with just new bumpers, F-Tronic logo and boot keyhole. This suggests that either the production version of the Nano Active will not actually get all the showcased updates, or the car’s AMT and manual variants will get different updates.
