Suzuki India starts local assembly of Hayabusa priced from Rs. 13.57 lakhs
As per a recent report on India Today, the Suzuki Haybusa sports bike will now be manufactured at Suzuki`s plant in Gurgaon. The locally assembled model is around Rs. 2.5 lakhs cheaper than the fully imported bike. Suzuki Motorcycles India Limited (SMIL) has revised the price of the Hayabusa which now costs Rs. 13, 57,135 ex-showroom, New Delhi.
The Hayabusa which has a cult following across the world will be brought to the country as CKD (completely knocked down) kits and assembled at Suzuki`s factory in Harayana. No mechanical changes have been made to the bike. The Busa measures 2,190 mm long, 1,165 mm high, 737mm wide and has wheelbase of 1,480 mm. It has a kerb weight of 266 kgs while the fuel tank capacity is 21 litres.
Suspension duties are performed by an inverted telescopic coil spring and oil damper at the front while the rear is equipped with a link type, coil spring and oil damper. Stopping power is provided by twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. The bike is shod with 20/70ZR17M/C (58W), tubeless tyres at the front and 190/50ZR17M/C (73W), tubeless tyres at the rear.
Powering the legendary Hayabusa is a 1340cc, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, liquid cooled engine capable of generating 197 PS of power and 154 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted via a six-speed Constant Mesh gearbox.
