Suzuki India lists GSX-S1000, S1000F on its Indian website, Launch likely in June
For the superbike enthusiasts of the country, the wait might be worth it, as Suzuki Motorcycle India has displayed two new superbikes on its official website hinting at an early launch. If you are planning to buy a new 1000cc bike, consider these two before making a final decision.
Both the GSX-S1000 and S1000F are expected to make their way to Suzuki dealerships sometime in June. Based on the GSX-1000R powertrain, these bikes once launched are going to join the Hayabusa and the GSX-1000R lineup. The high performing street fighter superbike, GSX-S1000 comes with an aggressive styling. The split seat on the bike, the exposed engine as well as the neatly put up fuel tank gives the bike a very sporty look. The GSX-S1000F on the other hand is a touring bike apt for long drives. Its raised handlebars provide a comfortable riding experience. The bike features small fenders along the sides with a neatly designed engine cowl, raised handlebars, full fairing and twin headlamps.
Powering the Suzuki GSX- S1000F and S1000 is a 999cc, 4-cylinder, in-line motor which produces around 145hp @ 9,500 rpm mated to a six-speed transmission. The bikes are equipped with engine management system, 3-mode traction control, digital instrument cluster and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). Suzuki India plans to sell around 400 units of superbikes in FY15. With the launch of these superbikes, the company is hopeful of reviving its sales in the premium bike segment.
