Both the Suzuki Gixxer SF and Yamaha Fazer F1 V2.0 are based on their respective naked versions retaining the powertrains and the technical specifications. While the new offering from the house of Suzuki – the Gixxer SF is inspired from the bigger GSX model and the MotoGP bike; on the other hand, Fazer FI comes as a half-faired bike with a dual headlamp and a subtle bland panel. Due to its muscular design language, it looks heavier than it actually weighs. People for whom styling and looks does matter, definitely the Suzuki Gixxer SF wins the race with its fresh, aerodynamic, bright color options and stylish sportier look which the Yamaha can`t match.

Technical Specifications

Having got identical engines from their naked counterparts, when we compare both these bikes, on paper, the Gixxer SF wins hands down with its higher power and torque figures – 14.8 PS and 14Nm compared to the Yamaha`s 13.1PS and 12.8Nm. While the Gixxer manages the 0-100 kmph dash in a mere 15 seconds, the Yamaha’s Fazer does it in 19 seconds. Nevertheless, Yamaha Fazer FI offers an excellent riding experience.

In terms of features, the Japanese bikes from Suzuki and Yamaha are equipped with midship exhaust, 12-litre fuel tank, meatier 140 section rear tyres and digital instrument console. On the other hand, Fazer misses out on the LED taillight and this is really disappointing as it is a standard feature on most of the offerings in this segment.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF is priced at Rs 92,596 while the Yamaha Fazer F1 V2.0 is priced at Rs 90,871 (all prices on road, New Delhi). Though the Gixxer is priced marginally higher than the Yamaha it is a better bike as an overall package. We rate the Suzuki Gixxer SF as the best fully faired bike in the 150cc category.
