SsangYong X100 Compact SUV christened as Tivoli
SsangYong has finally revealed its X100 compact SUV christened as the Tivoli.
Indian car major Mahindra & Mahindra’s South Korean subsidiary SsangYong has been making big news with its stunning XIV concepts, and the X100 SUV based on the concept. While the X100 SUV has been in news for quite long, SsangYong has finally revealed its X100 compact SUV christened as the Tivoli. The upcoming SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV will be the first vehicle based on XIV concept to hit the production. Tivoli is the name of an Italian town that is located close to Rome. The upcoming Tivoli compact SUV will be marked as the South Korean car maker’s most affordable product. The SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV will be placed below the company’s very popular Korando C.
SsangYong had displayed the Tivoli compact SUV’s near production model as the XIV Air and the XIV Adventure concept models at the 2014 Paris Motor Show that was held in October. Now, SsangYong has revealed the official new sketches of the production ready model of the Tivoli. The sketch of the production version Tivoli clearly shows its close resemblance to the earlier showcased XIV concepts where the overall design language is concerned.
The Tivoli`s cabin is feature rich and has been ergonomically designed.
SsangYong has not only revealed the planned exterior design of the new Tivoli, but also its interior design. The revealed official sketches of the upcoming SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV shows a very nice premium and feature rich cabin which has been very ergonomically designed. The stylish and functional interior of the SsangYong Tivoli is aimed at offering both the driver and the passengers with an easy in-car IT device connectivity experience. The modern cabin of the Tivoli comes with all connectivity options as well as huge storage spaces to make it very practical and convenient for the passengers.
The SsangYong Tivoli is under 4 metres in length.
Where dimensions are concerned, the new upcoming SsangYong Tivoli is a truly compact SUV model as it has a length of under 4-metres, again keeping in line with the showcased XIV concept models. The SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV will be available in both petrol and diesel variants and will be equipped with 1.6 litre petrol and diesel motors.
The new upcoming SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV is slated for its official market launch in the company’s home market South Korea in January next year. The company will then launch the compact SUV in the other global markets including UK by the middle of 2015. Where the Indian car market is concerned, Mahindra & Mahindra and SsangYong have not yet offered any details regarding the possibilities of the SsangYong Tivoli’s launch in the domestic market. However, the new SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV would be a great choice for the Indian market, as the compact SUV segment is booming. The Tivoli will also be a direct rival to the very popular Ford EcoSport, while also competing with the likes of the Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. Thus, it will be a wise decision, if Mahindra chooses to launch the SsangYong Tivoli in India along with its other planned compact SUV models.
