Spotted: Hero Splendor Pro facelift at a dealership
Reigning the segment with its Splendor range, Hero is the undisputed king of the commuter motorcycles. The company did not feel the need to overhaul the model thoroughly given the high sales recorded every month; however it seems it is time now Splendor receives a fresh dose of updates to keep abreast with the competition. Expected to be launched around Diwali, dealers have begun to receive stocks of the facelifted Splendor Pro.
The current model on sale embodies additional features such as side stand indicator, self start and alloy wheels which were conferred on it in the last facelift. This time, the company is planning to incorporate several other changes that strengthen its credibility in the commuter segment.
Most of the revisions made are purely cosmetic, leaving the mechanical set up intact. So the skin is going to feature a number of styling revivifications like a reworked head light and cowl which looks like it`s been borrowed from the Splendor iSmart. The rear gets a revamped tail light, knee recesses aide towards improved riding position and even the grab rail appears more contemporary featuring silver finishing.
Changes have also been made to the instrument cluster that gets a three-pod shape highlighted by a hint of chrome appliqué just above it. As mentioned above, the engine will be carried over from the previous version, the 97cc, 8.36 PS motor will be housed in Splendor facelift. However, the engine will be modified to yield better performance and efficiency. Even with all these changes, the price of the Splendor Pro is expected to remain unchanged with an insignificant hike of Rs 200.
