Spied: Range Rover Evoque convertible snapped in India for the first time
The jaw dropping Range Rover Evoque Convertible was introduced to the world in November 2015 and has recently been spotted in India for the very first time with UK registration plates. The company has earlier announced that the convertible will be launched across the globe in mid-2016 and in over 170 markets, let`s hope India is one among them! The test mule, a petrol variant of the Range Rover Evoque convertible was snapped on a flatbed truck. The open-top crossover was one of its kind when it made its debut way back in 2011, it has several competitors now namely BMW X4, Porsche Macan and the Lexus NX.
The range Rover Evoque convertible is expected to be available in India in HSE Dynamic grade only. Indian customers will have to be content with just one engine option which is the Si4 turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine which produces 240 PS of power and 340 Nm of twist mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The car will feature a four-wheel drive system and will reach a top speed of 209 kmph while the 0-100 kmph sprint will be dispatched in 8.6 seconds.
The Evoque convertible features a soft top that folds down in 18 seconds and takes 21 seconds to be raised at a speed of 48 kmph. The black coloured soft-top features the z-fold mechanism and is fully automated. Land Rover claims that the car is one of the most capable all-terrain convertible. It offers a boot space of 251 litres and is equipped with a touchscreen display of 10.2 inches along with Jaguar Land Rover’s InControl Touch Pro infotainment system. The Range Rover Evoque convertible will reach Indian shores via the CBU route and is expected to hit Indian shores by the end of this year.
