The Mahindra Mojo will be powered by a 295cc single cylinder motor

We had earlier reported that the Mahindra Mojo was slated to be launched sometime this year. The bike had been spotted testing, and spy pictures of the camouflaged vehicle had made its appearance online. All we could see was the bike under wraps, and had to use our imagination for the rest.

Now recently the bike was spotted out in the open, without any camouflage. The bike is highly awaited. It had first made its appearance in an auto show years ago, and the buzz slowly fizzled out. The bike gets much attention mainly because of its manufacturer. Mahindra mainly makes commuter bikes and heavy duty Sports utility vehicles. The thought that a home-grown auto major would be releasing a high performance bike has many people interested.

The bike looks just as expected, with a huge tank and a mean looking headlamp. The sides of the bike are graced by silver and gold accents, which give the naked street fighter some character. The alloy wheels have been well designed too, giving the bike an aggressive stance. The bike is powered by a 295cc single cylinder motor which produces close to 27 Bhp @8000 rpm and about 25 Nm of torque @ 6500 rpm. The fact that Mahindra, which mainly concentrates on commuter scooters and bikes, is venturing out into an unknown territory, is what is creating so much buzz.

The bike is said to be the next launch by Mahindra, and is slated for a release sometime in March. It would have an expected price tag of 1.5 Lakh INR (ex-showroom), which is extremely competitive and could give the other manufacturers some worry. We know for a fact that this bike has undergone rigorous testing and would exceed our expectations.
