SPIED: 2017 Audi RS5 spotted at Nurburgring
The new updated 2017 Audi RS5 has been spotted testing at the Nurburgring race track. It is a smaller sibling of the iconic Audi RS6, which has managed to be a successful car for Audi, despite its high price tag. The new RS5 is based on the A5 Coupe, and will get a host of skirts, spoilers and meatier exhausts in order to differentiate it from the normal A5.
Exterior design features visible in the heavily camouflaged Audi RS5 test mule include the company’s characteristic front grille, large and wide air intakes, and massive wheel arches that are filled by elegant looking alloy wheels. At the rear, a subtle spoiler has been integrated onto the boot lid, while the RS-series specific quad-exhausts have found their place in the new RS5 as well.
Audi will most likely add an all-new engine to the 2017 RS5, which will be a 3.0-litre V6 mill that will develop around 450 PS of power. Since the outgoing RS5 was powered by a V8 engine, the new Audi car will definitely be more efficient than the model it replaces. This same V6 engine will soon find its place under the sheet metal of the Audi RS4 and the new Audi R8 supercar.
