Own an old KTM 390? Here’s the news you have been waiting for!
KTM made some important updates in the feature list of the 390 series of bikes, both RC390 and Duke 390, for the model year 2016. The most important feature update was the inclusion of slipper clutch, which helps in reducing engine braking during aggressive downshifts. This in turn gives the ability to enter a corner at breathtaking speeds, thus enhancing the overall riding experience. And now, owners of the old KTM RC390 and KTM 390 Duke too can opt for fitting the new Slipper Clutch on their bikes, which will cost them INR 9,000 + applicable labour charges and taxes.
In addition to the slipper clutch, other impressive updates on the 2016 KTM 390 series of bikes include automatic headlamps, improved cushioning on the seats, reprogrammed and efficient ECUs and re-engineered radiator fans. Out of this list, the slipper clutch is obviously the feature that most existing customers were missing. As a result, it indeed is a welcome step by the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer to provide owners the option to upgrade to latest equipment on their existing bikes.
The 390 KTM bikes are powered by an extremely potent 373.3 cc, single cylinder engine that comes with liquid cooling. With power rated at 44 PS and peak torque at 35 Nm, the KTM bikes are equipped with ABS and disk brakes at the front and rear for added safety.
