Skoda Announces Launch of Rapid Monte Carlo Special Edition in India in 2017
After the launch of the new Skoda Rapid, the Czech carmaker is getting ready to launch 4 new products in the Indian car bazaar. The Rapid Monte Carlo, Octavia Black Edition, Octavia RS and Kodiaq SUV are expected to go on sale. One which we are super excited for is the Monte Carlo special edition that has been crafted to pay tribute to the company’s racing heritage. The Monte Carlo special edition package is already available for the Yeti, Fabia, Rapid and Citigo in the European market. According to an Autocar report, the Rapid Monte Carlo edition will hit the Indian shores soon. Going by the reports, Skoda India will roll out the Rapid Monte Carlo edition in early 2017.
Please note that the company hasn’t confirmed the date, Motorcruze will update you as soon as it announces the same. It is being speculated that the special edition will be offered in the price range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh in India. The Monte Carlo edition looks dapper with significant cosmetic updates and also appears a lot different from the standard model. The limited edition will be seen flaunting updated front bumper with horizontal LED fog lamps and a wider air dam, new matte black bumper chin and side skirts, Superb-influenced front grille design, black metallic accents on the boot line and tail lamps cluster.
The limited edition draped in special red colour looks attractive and also features black accents on headlamp inserts, front grille, ORVMs, alloy wheels, tail lamps and body accents. The interiors have been given a sporty touch as it features Skoda’s racing traits like grey and black colour seats, sporty bucket-style upholstery with red, stainless steel pedals and carbon fibre-design dashboard. The instrument cluster and multi-functional flat bottom steering wheel wrapped in perforated red-stitched leather looks catchy and unique. The special edition model derives power from the tried and tested 1.6-L MPI petrol and 1.5-L turbo diesel engine. The petrol unit is capable of delivering 103 bhp and 153 Nm while the diesel engine churns out 103 bhp and 250 Nm. Transmission options available are a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic.
