Royal Enfield Himalayan caught in a production ready avatar
All of us are aware that Royal Enfield is working on a new motorcycle called Himalayan that will dethrone the Continental GT to become the company’s flagship model in our country. Latest spy shots of the Himalayan reveals everything that is expected to be found on the production version of the bike that will go on sale. To sum up in a few words, the motorcycle gets a very rugged yet unique look and will be positioned as an adventure tourer in India.
In what will become the company’s first ever adventure touring product, Royal Enfield has given the Himalayan black telescopic forks at the front with a dust protector, tall windshield, a very high mounted front mudguard, good ground clearance and typical off-roading tyres. Other than these, the bike has a newly designed fuel tank, signature round headlamp, upright handlebars, a monoshock rear suspension, disc brakes at the front and rear, upswept exhaust and an interestingly designed instrument cluster.
Like many of the other products coming out from the Chennai based two-wheeler’s showrooms, the Himalayan will be comfortable to ride as well thereby enabling riders to travel long distances. The upcoming Royal Enfield bike will come equipped with a new 410cc fuel injected engine that will produce around 28 BHP of power and 40 Nm of torque. NVH levels are expected to be much better than any other motorcycle coming from the same stable. The Himalayan will become the most powerful bike to be retailed by Royal Enfield and it is expected to be launched in our country in the first half of next year, if not towards the end of this year.
