Renault Duster facelift expected in 2017
The Duster has spelled success for the French car maker “Renault” in India. The Renault Duster clocked sales of 1, 00,000 units since it was launched two years ago in India and has sold more than 10 lakh units worldwide. Since its launch the Duster has not been through a major upgrade and reports suggest that it will receive an update in 2017.
The all new Duster as rendered in the image will remain true to its original design. It will feature a new grille and headlights. At the rear the compact SUV will receive new tail lamps and a revised boot lid. Expect the car to be loaded with more safety features and better interiors.
The Renault Duster is currently available with a petrol engine and a diesel mill. The 1.5 litre gasoline motor pumps out 102ps of power and 145Nm of torque, while the diesel motor is available in two states of tune – 85PS/200Nm and 108PS/248Nm which are expected to be carried over to the 2017 model. Internationally the European spec Duster also comes with a turbo-charged 1.2 litre petrol engine producing 123 PS and 204 Nm of torque. If Renault brings this variant to India it will directly compete with the EcoBoost powered Ecosport. Renault has recently launched the Duster Adventure variant which is priced at 9.99 Lakh ex-showroom Delhi and a 4*4 variant of the Duster is expected to be launched in India during the second half of 2014.
