Range Rover Evoque 2016 model revealed, to be powered by a new diesel engine
Range Rover has unveiled the new 2016 Evoque. The car, which came with an exorbitant price tag, was a huge success in the country. The success can be credited to the cars intricate design and salient features. This is the smallest SUV to come out of the Range Rover stable, aimed to please a younger consumer base. The 2016 model will make its first public appearance at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Though at first glance, the car looks more or less the same, a lot of changes have been made on the outside as well as on the inside.
The car sports a new aggressive looking front bumper and seamlessly blends into the new front grille. The sleek new LED headlamp looks timeless, and adds character to the front fascia of the car. The side profile remains same, with the alloys wheels getting a facelift, which perfectly compliments the cars design. The rear is identical, except for a few minor changes made to give it a fresh makeover.
On the inside the car gets an 8 inch touch screen infotainment console. The car is packed with various features like lane keep assist, drowsy driver sensor and braking assist. The car has a gesture tailgate feature, where the owner can unlock the boot of the car by just waving his foot under the sensor attached to the back bumper. The interior of the car looks chick, with black leather and white stitching gracing it perfectly. The designated owner can personalize the car to his or her taste, with a wide array of upholstery shades to choose from.
The 2.0 liter petrol engine, which churns out 240 bhp, remains unchanged. While on the other hand the diesel engine gets a massive upgrade. It will sport a new 2.0 liter 4-cylinder Ingenium motor, which will be available in two different states of tune. There will be two diesel engines on offer, one that is tuned to produce 150 bhp, while the other will be a 180 bhp motor. Range Rover claims the crossover will give an average of about 29km/l and have low CO2 figures (109g/km on the 2 wheel drive, 125g/km on the AWD).
The new Range Rover Evoque will have a similar price tag to the outgoing model if not higher, and you can expect it to reach Indian shores by early 2016.
