Peugeot`s Vision Gran Turismo does a 0-100 kmph in 1.72 seconds; Can you believe it? [Video]
Peugeot’s operations the world over have been somewhat discreet as compared to other car manufacturers. However, the French car maker is currently the second largest car manufacturer in Europe and is known for developing impressive car designs, which is one of the main reasons behind its success story.
The company is also known to showcase its striking designs through concept cars. The latest of such cars is the new Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo. Peugeot claims that the concept can hit 100km/hr from standstill in under 2 seconds. Actually, it’s just 1.72 seconds to be exact. Yes, you read it correctly! Also, the top speed of the Vision Gran Turismo is said to be somewhere in the range of 320 km/hr.
The aforementioned performance figures are achievable thanks to Vision GT’s super light-weight body which weighs just 875 kg. This is combined with a 3.2-litre, mid-mounted V6 engine that generates 875 BHP. Did you manage to find the relation here? If your answer is ‘No’, then take a look at the vehicle’s weight and power figures. Exactly! The concept car has a power to weight ratio of 1:1, which is superbly tough to attain for cars, leave alone motorcycles.
Mechanically speaking, the Peugeot Vision GT has a 6-speed manual transmission which drives all four wheels of the car. The vehicle’s dimensions are also quite surprising. It has a height of only 104 cm, even though it rides on massive 22 inch wheels up-front and 23 inch wheels at the back. Braking power comes from carbon-ceramic disk brakes that are sourced from Brembo, measuring 380 mm on the front and 337 mm at the back.
Don’t these figures sound just too good to be true? Well they actually aren’t because the Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo is actually a virtual track car that has been developed for a famous game called the ‘Gran Turismo 6’. Actually, this is quite obvious because of the fact that these figures are simply supernatural. One will only be able to experience the new concept’s driving dynamics in the game only, which is a big turnoff to say the least.
