Nissan Terrano anniversary edition launched in India
Japanese auto giant Nissan has launched a limited edition model of its compact SUV Terrano. Dubbed as the Terrano Anniversary Edition, this limited edition SUV model is going to be truly exclusive, as Nissan is going to roll out only 450 units in the Indian car market.
Similar to any special edition or limited edition models, the new Nissan Terrano Anniversary Edition boasts of many new cosmetic changes and additions. The limited edition model gets various new exterior features including a contrasting black roof and new stripy graphics on the bonnet and blackened outside rear view mirrors. The limited edition Terrano also flaunts an additional dose of chrome garnish on the outside as well.
On the inside, nothing has changed much in the Nissan Terrano Anniversary Edition, but the SUV does get an impressive heads-up display system to provide a more engaged driving experience for the driver.
The Nissan Terrano Anniversary Edition will be available in the market in two variants, namely – the lower XVD model trim and the high-end Premium model. The feature list for both these models is obviously different. The Terrano Anniversary Edition XVD comes with features like driver’s height adjustable seat, rear parking sensors, and leather wrapped steering wheel as well as leather wrapped gear knobs. On the other hand, the top end model trim, Terrano Anniversary Edition Premium boasts of the added bells and whistles in the form of premium leather upholstery and classy wooden finish trimmings on the front as well as the rear door armrests.
The Nissan Terrano SUV was launched in India last year in order to compete in the fast growing and very lucrative compact SUV/crossover market space. The Terrano competes with the likes of Mahindra Scorpio, Renault Duster, and Ford Ecosport. Nissan has brought in the Terrano Anniversary Edition model in order to commemorate the first anniversary of the compact SUV, and incidentally this time also happens to be the Indian festive season when most of the car makers prefer to launch their new cars or special edition models to grab the attention of the car buyers. However, while Nissan Terrano got only an anniversary special limited edition model, its two primary market rivals namely the Mahindra Scorpio and the Renault Duster come with much more alluring new avatars. While the Scorpio has recently launched in its new generation model, the Duster gets a new refreshed model with an All Wheel Drive system.
The Nissan Terrano Anniversary Edition is tagged at Rs. 12.83 lakh for the lower XVD model and at Rs. 13.13 lakh for the Premium model (prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for the new Nissan Terrano Anniversary Edition models are open online at Nissan India’s official website for an amount of Rs. 10,000.
