Nissan Patrol Desert Edition unveiled at 2015 Dubai Motor Show
Nissan has unveiled the Desert edition of its globally renowned Patrol SUV model at the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show. Meant to be retailed in the Middle-Eastern Market, the Nissan Patrol Desert version was designed taking inputs from Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the former Middle-East Champion.
Commenting on the recently unveiled Desert Patrol version, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East, Mr. Samir Cherfan said that the company conducted a thorough study in GCC before the development of the Desert edition which concluded that customers wanted an excellent off-roader version of the Patrol crafted specifically for the Middle East. He further said, the model is already popular in the region and the Desert version developed on the basis of a detailed study fits the bill completely.
As compared to the regular Patrol version, the Desert version gets special skid plates ensuring under-body protection and an integrated tyre inflator. The ‘bead-lock’ wheels allow using tyres at excessively low pressure also. Special fenders on the outside lend a more masculine appearance to the sports utility vehicle. The Cabin features a navigation system with cameras in front as well as the rear. Nissan will make the new Patrol Desert Edition version available in the UAE market priced at 2, 55,000 DHS which is around Rs 45 lakhs in Indian currency.
