Nissan GT-R LM Nismo debuts on GT6 before gearing up for Le mans
Nissan`s Le Mans prototype, the GT-R LM Nismo recently got unlocked on the games offering. Gran Turismo is one of the most accurate simulation racing game to ever be made. It’s so huge that Nissan decided to unveil its car here before actually revealing it to the real world. The car, which looks like it came out of a sci-fi action movie, looks absolutely stunning.
The Nissan GT-R LM Nismo is powered by a hybrid turbo V6 engine (which will also be powering the next gen GT-R), coupled to a 5 speed transmission. The engine is so torquey that it would require less gear changes, hence less transmission wearing off. The engine is placed in the front, and is a FWD. This means that all the weight of the vehicle is at the front end. This would make the downforce more prominent in the front, allowing the rear tyres to be thinner to reduce drag.
The car has been designed to produce minimum drag, and air vents and tunnels make sure the car is in its most aerodynamic shape. It’ll be interesting to see how this car performs at the Le Mans, and whether it will be a contender for the 24 hour race.
What is interesting to know is Nissan`s Le Mans line up for 2015. It will consist of three GT academy racers, Jann Mardenborough, Lucas Ordonez and Mark Shulzhitskiy. This is proof that simulation car racers can give real world racers a challenge, and also measure how accurate virtual racing games are.
If you own the PS3 game, you’ll have to set a time on the La Sarthe track in the in-game GT Academy to unlock the vehicle!
