New Swift “Windsong“ Edition Launched
Maruti always attempts at trying to garner attention to increase its sales volumes. The company has yet again introduced an exclusive edition of the swift, called the “Windsong” edition. The car has been targeted at music lovers, and has been altered to suit their taste. The special “Windsong” edition is only available on the mid-variant VDI/VXI model.
The Maruti Suzuki Windsong comes in nothing apart from the pearl white color. The car has music related graphics on the sides as well as on the hood. These graphics look more tacky than classy, and Maruti could’ve done without them.
New wheel caps, and external spoiler too have been added to increase the oomph factor.
Where the car really comes alive is in the inside. The car has black seats with piping on the borders. This gives the car a sporty look, and Maruti Suzuki should consider doing this in all of its swift models. The car has ambient lighting, to set up a relaxing atmosphere while one enjoys their music. The Swift “Windsong” edition comes with a touchscreen entertainment system, a first on a mid-level Maruti! Apart from this, there is an illuminated doorsill guard, swift design on the mats and many other such exclusive changes.
No changes have been made under the hood, unfortunately. The car still runs the same 1.2 liter K-series engine and the 1.3 DDIS. Personally I feel, instead of attempting to make the car exclusive, a better effort should’ve been made on the exterior and it should’ve come with a better infotainment system. The Swift has always been a hot seller since it was launched, and it will continue to hold the throne as long as it is a value for money product.
Prices of the Swift Windsong edition (ex-showroom, New Delhi):
VXI: 5, 14, 973 INR
