New Skoda Octavia 2017 bookings open, launch soon
Skoda India has reportedly commenced bookings for the new 2017 Skoda Octavia sedan. The company’s authorized dealerships are said to be accepting pre-bookings for the car at a token amount of Rs. 25,000. Skoda hasn’t yet mentioned any specific launch date of the car, though it is expected to be launched sometime in June 2017.
The 2017 Octavia will be a mid-life facelift of the car. As a result, it will come with some cosmetic updates and a few feature additions, while being mechanically identical to the current model. The cosmetic changes made include a completely new front fascia with plit headlamps, a new bumper, wider grille and larger fog lamps. The side and rear profiles are expected to remain similar to that of the current model, with the changes being limited to the alloy wheels, new taillights and a revised bumper.
No mechanical changes are expected on the 2017 Octavia facelift. As a result, it will continue to be offered with three engine options – a 1.4-litre TSI petrol, a 1.8-litre TSI petrol and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel. These are the same engines that are found in the Octavia that is currently on sale in India. Meanwhile, transmission option available with the updated sedan will likely include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic unit and a 6-speed automatic.

Skoda is expected to launch the 2017 Octavia in India in the month of June this year. The automaker hasn’t revealed an official launch date yet. Bookings for the car are already underway at all Skoda authorized dealerships across the country at a token amount of Rs. 25,000.
New Skoda Octavia 2017 price in India
Skoda will be making some serious feature additions with the 2017 Octavia sedan. These include a new instrument cluster with larger MID screen, LED headlamps with DRLs, and a revised infotainment system. As a result, it is highly likely that prices of the 2017 Skoda Octavia facelift will see an increment of around Rs. 70,000, as compared to the current prices. Hence, we expect the facelifted Octavia’s price to range from Rs. 17.5 lakh to Rs. 22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

New Skoda Octavia 2017 Specifications
The new 2017 Skoda Octavia will only be a mid-life facelift. Hence, it is expected to come with only cosmetic and feature related changes, while the powertrain options are expected to be carried forward from the current model line-up, without any changes.
Petrol variants will be available with either a 1.4-litre TSI or a 1.8-litre TSI unit, while the diesel models will feature a 2.0-litre TDI power plant. A 6-speed MT, a 6-speed AT and a 7-speed DSG will be the transmission options on offer with the said models, respectively.

New Skoda Octavia 2017 Exteriors
For the 2017 facelifted model, Skoda has made some noteworthy changes on the front end of the car. These include new split-section headlights with LED DRLs, a wide grille with the new Skoda logo mounted above it, revised front bumper and larger fog lamps. Additionally, the top-end models will come with full LED illumination for the headlamps.
Side profile of the 2017 Skoda Octavia facelift will continue to be offered with a silhouette which will be similar to the one of the current model. However, the alloy wheels will come with a new design, with a gunmetal finish. Changes on the rear end will include a new pair of taillights with LED light guides, a boot lid mounted spoiler and a slightly tweaked rear bumper.
New Skoda Octavia 2017 Interiors
Skoda will borrow the overall dashboard layout of the new Octavia from the current model itself. Hence, changes made on the facelift will be limited to a new 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system mounted on the top of the centre console. This particular infotainment unit will be compatible with Skoda’s connect apps and will also feature navigation support.
