New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport coming to India by mid-2017

2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Brown Front three quarters

All of us are aware of the fact that all the vehicles in the premium SUV segment in our country will be updated in the next couple of years. The next generation Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is going to be among one of them. The new model which was revealed in Thailand last month, has received a superb reception mainly due to its stunning design scheme which is completely different from the outgoing model.

The front end gets a sleek design, with sharp looking headlamps, awesome looking front grille, LED daytime running lights, huge bumper that gets flowing lines, a big airdam, chrome inserts and well-designed fog lamps. Alloy wheels design of the new generation model is very stylish as well and the same comes in two avatars. The rear profile is as good as the front with a sleek and tall rear taillight unit which looks like something from the future. The tailgate otherwise has a contemporary design.

The interiors are nothing like the current model as well. The centre console gets a flowing design that looks very premium with the 4-spoke steering wheel with mounted audio controls. Silver inserts and leather upholstery further accentuates the good looks, while the seats are finished in leather. On the feature front, the Thailand model makes do with the expected bits like a touchscreen infotainment system, electric parking brake which is a first from the Mitsubishi stable till date and an optional “Multi-Around” camera system.

Being safety rich, the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has seven SRS airbags, Blind Spot Warning system, Ultrasonic Mitigation System (UMS), Forward Collision Mitigation system (FCM) and much more. The big SUV derives power from a 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel motor with power being sent to all the four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. When introduced in India, Mitsubishi will import the vehicle through the CKD route.
