New Mercedes Benz E-Class Cabriolet snapped testing with heavy camouflage
Mercedes-Benz is working on a newer E-Class Cabriolet and recently this upcoming car was spotted testing with heavy camouflage. Spy images reveal that this new Merc Cabriolet gets minimalistic changes than its predecessor and gets that coupe like design language as well.
Although the E-Class Cabriolet was totally covered that coupe like design gives it a distinguished look and adds a touch of aggressiveness to the vehicle. It is expected that this car would get few upgrades on the exterior front which include new LED tail lamps and a multi beam headlamp setup, a sleek and sporty front face with a single bar grille and some new styling cues on the sides of the car as well.
The car is expected to be launched in 2017, and the international spec would most probably be equipped with a 2.0L four-cylinder turbocharged engine along with few other diesel engine variants on offer. While the Indian spec of the E-Class Cabriolet would be getting the same 3.0L V6 turbocharged engine as seen in its predecessor which bangs out 333bhp of power and 480Nm of peak torque. This heavy duty engine would be mated to a slick 7-speed automatic gearbox setup.
On the interior front, the car is expected to get the same interiors as its predecessor although few additions such as a new steering wheel, two 12.3” infotainment displays on the dash etc. are expected. The dashboard is also expected to get touch sensitive controls. This new E-Class Cabriolet is expected to hit the roads next year, but the company has not made any official statement about it till now.
