New Honda Jazz teased before next month`s launch in India [VIDEO]

Honda`s premium hatchback, the Jazz, is expected to be launched in the country in June. With the launch inching closer, the company has started promoting its forthcoming hatchback through social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Honda India has also released a teaser video to spread the word about its upcoming hatch.

We had previously reported that production of the 2015 Honda Jazz has commenced at its Rajasthan plant, but it got delayed due to production issues, because of which the launch date has been postponed to June. As per reports the car will be powered by a 1.5 litre iDTEC diesel engine that produces 100 PS of power. The same engine does duty in the Amaze, Mobilio and the City. The Petrol motor is a 1.2 litre iVTEC unit which churns out 88PS of power @6000 RPM. The diesel mill has a claimed fuel efficiency of 25.8 kmpl while the petrol delivers 18 kmpl. Both the engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the gasoline variant will additionally come with a CVT automatic transmission.

The new Jazz`s interiors will be very spacious with Honda using its “Man Maximum Machine Minimum” philosophy to brilliantly package the cabin. The interiors are more or less similar to the fourth generation Honda City. In terms of safety the Indian spec will get ABS, EBD and dual airbags, while additional details can be revealed once the car is launched.

The Honda Jazz was recently named the most reliable user car in the UK market as per a research conducted by What Car? The Japanese auto brand was also recently voted as UK`s most reliable car manufacturer for the 9th consecutive year.

When launched the 2015 Jazz will compete with the likes of the Fiat Punto Evo, Tata Bolt, Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Swift and the Hyundai i20. This time around we can expect the company to price it competitively as it will be manufactured locally.
