New car launches in March 2015 in India

Right from luxury sedans to budget cars, the Indian auto industry has witnessed rapid growth in the last couple of years. Automobile manufacturers have been bombarding the market with new cars, even though the market growth has been sluggish. Some of the new car launches which happened from the start of 2015 are- Tata Bolt, New Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, Hyundai Verna 2015 model, VW Jetta facelift, 2015 Maruti Swift Dzire, Datsun GO+ and BMW i8 Plug-in Hybrid. Car companies have more goodies lined up for consumers in March, and four new car launches have been lined up for this month.

Below is the list of new car launches happening in March 2015

Mercedes Benz B Class

2015 Mercedes B Class facelift
The Mercedes Benz B Class falls under the luxury hatchback segment and will be the first car to be launched this month. The car has received minimal exterior upgrades and some new features. The B Class now gets LED DRLs (headlamps) and a new bumper. On the inside, the vehicle gets a sporty looking interior with red stitching on the seats and steering, dashboard finished in carbon fibre and metal inserts. All said and done don’t expect any mechanical upgrades under the hood. The car will be available with the same petrol and diesel engines.
Expected Launch Date: 11th March, 2015
Estimated Price: Rs. 28 – 30 lakh

Hyundai i20 Active

Hyundai i20 Active Crossover
The i20 has set the cash registers ringing for the Korean carmaker. Hyundai now plans to launch a more rugged version of the car in the Indian market. Called the Hyundai i20 Active, it is built on the i20 platform. To give the car a crossover look, black plastic cladding is present around the entire body of the car, some changes have been made to the exteriors and interiors and the ground clearance has also been increased. Changes to the front include a new skid plate, projector head lamps, DRLs, and a redesigned bumper with larger fog lamps. The i20 Active features a roof rail, bigger alloy wheels and changes to the rear include a new bumper and a silver skid plate.
Expected Launch Date: 18th March, 2015
Estimated Price: Rs. 5.75 – 6.00 lakh

BMW Mini Cooper S

BMW Mini Cooper S
The Mini 5-door and 3-door versions were launched by BMW in India last November. The Bavarian based carmaker will now be launching a more powerful Sports variant of the MINI. Powering the S trim will be a twin turbo 4 cylinder motor that is capable of churning out 190BHP and 280 Nm of torque, coupled to a 6 speed auto gearbox.
Expected Launch Date: 3rd week of March
Estimated Price: Rs. 38 – 40 lakh

Renault Lodgy MPV Indian Spec photo

Renault Lodgy MPV
The Renault Lodgy has been officially revealed by the French carmaker at an awards function held in India recently. The vehicle has also been spotted testing numerous times and will be launched during the last week of this month. The car will be powered by the tried and tested 1.5 litre K9K diesel motor doing duty in the Duster. There is also a possibility of Renault offering a petrol variant which will be powered by the 1.5 litre, 98bhp petrol motor from the Scala sedan.

Estimated Price: Rs. 6.55 – 9.00 lakh
