New BMW X6 Launching In India On 23rd July 2015
BMW is all set to launch the latest iteration of one of the company’s most successful SUVs in India, the X6 in Bangalore on 23rd July. The exteriors basically remains the same, but has a few changes to make the coupe style SUV look younger and fresher. The updates include new LED headlights, new air-dams and bigger kidney grilles. The interiors too are updated getting new wooden trims and a new steering wheel, the rest remaining the same as the previous model and the new X5. According to the company, the new design is more evolutionary than revolutionary, which is fairly evident as well.
The new BMW X6 car is offered with a range of engine options in international markets, but the xDrive40d variant with the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 (in-line) diesel engine is expected to make it to India. This diesel mill generates 313 PS of power and 630 Nm of torque and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all the four wheels. The SUV can hit 100 km/hr from standstill in 5.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 240 km/hr. The 2015 BMW X6 features the usual driving modes that are also found on other vehicles in the same segment along with BMW’s Eco Pro mode.
In other markets, the X6 is retailed with the performance X6 M model which is powered by a massive 4.4-litre TwinPower turbo, V8 petrol engine that also powers the M5. The engine generates 575 PS of power and 750 Nm of torque and with BMW coming up with separate performance M dealerships, the X6 M will make it to India towards the end of this year.
